Articulate Storyline
Audience: All new employees hired with the company Play for Performance who consult, plan, and provide game-based training opportunities for client organizations. Learners are high school educated with personal experience with playing board games, but limited experience with game-based learning.
Problem: Onboarding processes for the company currently requires new hires to primarily job shadow and observe consultation sessions with more senior consultants. In the last 3 months, client consultations have been 40% less effective because of identified gaps in new hires' understanding of the game-solution training options and design process.
Solution: The purpose of this course is to create clear and consistent onboarding training to increase new employee knowledge on relating game objectives to a business's applicable skills. After this training, new employees will be able to successfully provide consultations, design relevant and successful training experiences, and in turn increase the company’s revenue.
Highlights: Tabbed accordion interaction, custom drag & drop knowledge check, branching slides, scenario-based interactions, interactive buttons and tabbed interactions, voiced narration, and a scenario-based quiz
Process: To develop this training, a systematic approach was utilized from start to finish. It began with a needs analysis to align goals, content, and deliverables while gaining input from SMEs and other stakeholders. In the design phase, a comprehensive design document and storyboard were designed and reviewed with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and pinpoint any changes. In the development phase, adult learning theory techniques were employed to create interactive elements combined with relevant content. After implementation, the course was evaluated with an embedded scenario-based assessment (Kirkpatrick's Level 2 assessment) in addition to observations of learners' consultations (Kirkpatrick's Level 3 assessment) up to 6 months post-completion of the course. Upon completion of the project, the course was published and implemented while adhering to compliance frameworks like SCORM or xAPI.

Audience: All current and new consultant employees for the company Lane Lighting Solutions. Learners are high school and college-educated individuals with varying levels of experience with programmable lighting.
Problem: Sales of programmable holiday lights are down by 40% this season because employees are not confident with customizable light options and cannot systematically describe the initial light selection and setup process for customers.
Solution: The goal of this course is to train light consultant specialists to confidently guide a customer through initial light choice design, matching material selection, and different options for programming to increase sales by 70% this fiscal year.
Highlights: Interactive button and tabbed interactions, sorting knowledge checks, matching knowledge checks, flip information cards, custom gif, video, and picture carousel
Process: The Getting Started with Programmable Holiday Lights training was developed with a structured approach. A needs assessment was conducted with stakeholders and analyzed to narrow the scope and pinpoint key learning objectives for the course. Collaborative sessions with SMEs helped to pinpoint content and align goals and deliverables. While in the design phase, a design document was developed for content and was reviewed and revised with the team. The course was developed with Articulate Rise to include interactive elements to engage and assess learners with knowledge checks and a final course quiz (Kirkpatrick's Level 2 assessment), and a final course questionnaire was used to follow up and assess course value.
